Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is MinistryLINQ?

MinistryLINQ provides ministries with the ability to accept online giving. They can also take payments for camps, mission trips, building programs and other preconfigured accounts.

  • What products are available for my organization?

MinistryLINQ has created and assembled a variety of tools and strategies to make use of electronic giving such as the following:

    • Online giving (variety of forms)
    • Kiosk giving
    • Text giving
    • All types of forms (Events & Registrations)
    • Live support for account help
  • How soon does the money go into our account after you take out the transaction fee?

Money from Credit Card/Check Card transactions is deposited into the ministry’s account within 2-3 business days. Money from ACH (e-check) transactions take a few days to be deposited into your account. The reason for the delay in ACH is for verification that the funds are there, whereas Credit Cards/Check Cards have real-time validation of availability of funds

  • Are there any maintenance fees for changes like adding a fund category, or a new report?

There is no charge for changing fund categories. Reports are a little different. There are several reports that you will have access to, but since we build these reports ourselves it would be unrealistic for us to say yes you can have any report you can dream up and it’s free. We will definitely provide some great reports and are very open to reports and statistic requests. We will do what we can to fill these requests.

  • What happens if there are insufficient funds in a payment?

Credit Cards/Check Cards do real-time validation to ensure availability of funds. ACH does not. If an ACH request is processed and there is NSF, there is a 3.00 charge. This is charged by the ACH merchant account provider, and we do not have any control over this rate.

  • We’ve been manually entering our online donations into our donor management solution. Is it possible to download our transaction activity from your system and import it into our donor management system?

Yes, we allow you to export all online transaction activity into a .CSV file. Most donor management solutions will allow you to import this file. Your vendor will be able to provide more specifics on how this may be possible.

  • Why recurring giving?

Approximately 80% of Americans live on a monthly budget and their effectiveness as stewards is largely based on a monthly commitment to giving. As distracting as our culture can be, automatic recurring giving is welcomed by givers and mission leaders alike. Over a 5-year period, we have seen a 95% retention rate with monthly recurring donors. This kind of retention rate would not be possible without automatic recurring gifts. While MinistryLINQ’s costs are minimal, it can lead to enormous growth through recurring giving!

  • Could you help me present this to my board/leadership?

We would be happy to do a conference call, a webinar or a board meeting/speaker phone short presentation. We would be glad to do whatever we can to help bring early unity and focus for the ministry’s sake. These tools can have a very positive effect on your organization’s funding, and early team buy-in means more rapid growth in giving. The two key ministry contacts between MinistryLINQ and your organization are your admin and leader/advancement people.

  • What are the different types of payments we can take with MinistryLINQ?

MinistryLINQ takes Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Personal Checks.

  • Can I use MinistryLINQ to accept transactions other than donations and giving?

Yes, you can accept money on any pre-configured category. Accept payments for camp registration, building funds, or special events.

  • Can I accept recurring donations and payments?

Yes, you can set up multiple recurring payments and donations.

  • When it comes to system security, is your system PCI Compliant?

We are audited annually to ensure we meet the highest standards of security set forth by the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). We are proud to be PCI Certified as a Level 1 Service Provider which means we meet the highest standards of security set forth by the PCI Council.

  • How will I know a donation has been made?

Email notifications can be setup for both the giver and the organization. On the organization end, you will receive a daily batch summary e-mail and the giver will receive a receipt.

  • How long will it be before I can start taking donations?

Less than twenty-four hours from the time your merchant account application is approved. Merchant account applications usually take 1-2 business days to be approved.
